Getting Started

How do I scan a document?

Open Verto and point your camera at the document. The app will automatically detect the document edges. Tap the capture button or wait for auto-capture. Verto will process the scan and prepare it for translation.

Which languages are supported?

Verto supports over 100 languages for cloud translation and 30+ languages for offline translation. The most popular language pairs (English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, French, German, Arabic, Portuguese, Hindi) have the highest accuracy.

Do I need an account to use Verto?

You can use basic scanning and translation features without an account. Creating a free account unlocks your full daily scan quota, translation history, and the ability to save documents to your library.

Translation & Accuracy

How accurate are the translations?

Verto uses state-of-the-art AI models that achieve high accuracy across most language pairs and document types. However, AI translation is not perfect — we recommend professional human translation for legal, medical, or other high-stakes documents.

What does layout preservation mean?

When Verto translates a document, it maintains the original formatting — tables, columns, headers, footnotes, images, and text positioning all stay in place. The translated document looks like the original, just in a different language.

Can Verto translate handwritten text?

Verto can recognize and translate clearly written handwritten text in most Latin-script languages. Handwriting recognition accuracy varies depending on legibility. Printed text produces the best results.

Why is my translation different from Google Translate?

Verto uses vision language models that consider the full visual context of a document — layout, images, formatting, and surrounding text — which often produces more contextually accurate translations than text-only translation tools.

Privacy & Security

Are my documents stored on your servers?

Documents processed via cloud translation are encrypted in transit and at rest, and automatically deleted from our servers within 1 hour. Documents translated in offline mode never leave your device. We never use your documents to train AI models.

How does offline mode work?

Offline mode downloads language models directly to your device, allowing you to scan and translate without an internet connection. It’s available for 30+ languages on the Pro plan. Go to Settings > Offline Languages to download the ones you need.

Is Verto safe for confidential documents?

We take document security seriously. All cloud processing uses end-to-end encryption (TLS 1.3 in transit, AES-256 at rest) with automatic deletion. For maximum security, use offline mode so documents never leave your device. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Account & Billing

How do I upgrade to Pro?

Open Verto and go to Settings > Subscription, or tap any Pro feature prompt. You can subscribe monthly or annually (save 30%). Payment is processed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, you can cancel anytime. Your Pro features remain active until the end of your current billing period. To cancel, go to Settings > Subscription > Manage, or manage through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds are handled by Apple (iOS) or Google (Android) according to their respective refund policies. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at hi@verto.page and we’ll help resolve it.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account. This will permanently delete your account, translation history, and all associated data. You can also email hi@verto.page to request account deletion.
