1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Verto (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. We may modify these Terms at any time, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of any changes.
2. Description of Service
Verto is a mobile application and web service that provides AI-powered document scanning and translation with layout preservation. The Service is available in free and paid tiers, each with different feature sets and usage limits as described on our pricing page.
3. Account Registration
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Infringe upon the intellectual property rights of others
- Translate or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, or otherwise objectionable
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use the Service to build a competing product
- Exceed published rate limits or usage quotas through automated means
5. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and content (excluding user-submitted documents), is owned by Verto and protected by intellectual property laws. You retain ownership of all documents you submit. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, temporary license to process your documents solely to provide the translation service.
6. Subscriptions and Payments
- Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
- All fees are non-refundable except as required by law or as described in our refund policy
- We may change pricing with 30 days' advance notice
- You may cancel your subscription at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period
- Free trial periods, if offered, convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial ends
7. Translation Accuracy
Verto uses AI models to provide translations. While we strive for high accuracy, translations are provided on an “as-is” basis and may contain errors. The Service is not a substitute for professional human translation in situations where errors could have legal, medical, financial, or other significant consequences. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of translations for critical use cases.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Verto shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive (including limitations of liability, intellectual property, and dispute resolution).
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
